Today, so many things are going on, that I don't know what to comment on first. So here goes nothing.
Wisconsin--Found votes 18 hrs after the polls closed certainly call for a closer look. While it could simply be human error, as was alleged, election fraud needs to be ruled out.
The Shutdown of the Government--The GOP are unwilling to budge on their cuts to Planned Parenthood. This organization, provides one in six women with their birth control (Important if you want to decrease abortions.) While every talking head I heard said it was because of the budget, I think that if they wanted to worry about the budget, they wouldn't have continued the tax cuts to the uber wealthy. Also, the Republicans do not want the EPA to regulate greenhouse gases (one congressman called it the "Koch Brothers Appreciation Act".)
Off topic, but I read two really great books, "The Conscience of a Liberal" by Paul Krugman, and "Rediscovering Values" by Jim Wallis.
