Why The Super-Rich Pay Half the Taxes We Do - Newsweek
It’s easy for Mark Zuckerberg to say he’s ‘cool’ with raising income-tax rates. Because it won’t affect him.
It drives economist Bruce Bartlett crazy every time he hears another bazillionaire announce he’s in favor of paying higher taxes. Most recently it was Mark Zuckerberg who got Bartlett’s blood boiling when the Facebook founder declared himself “cool” with paying more in federal taxes, joining such tycoons as Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Ted Turner, and even a stray hedge-fund manager or two.

Daily Sound — RIGHT ON TARGET: The great economic divide
Throughout the history of human civilization the various manifestations of social stratification include a small upper class and a large lower class—nobles and peasants; Brahmans and Untouchables; Patricians and Plebeians. Although the upper class is always a markedly small percentage of the overall population it nevertheless controls a hugely disproportionate percentage of wealth and power. It has always been thus, and is so now.

Ohio Gov. Kasich Pays Lip Service to Public Employees | AFL-CIO NOW BLOG

The Death of Osama Bin Laden
The President and his administration, have captured and killed an enemy of the United States. Osama Bin Laden, has been an enemy of the United States since the Clinton Era. He has been very difficult to find and eliminate.
This is a great day for all Americans. While there are others, ready to take his place, we have defeated the figurehead of Al Qaeda.
It is also a time when we need to be very vigilant. There are many people who still hate the United States, and wish to avenge Bin Laden's death. Today though, I'll just say we got him.

WKSU News: NE Ohio schools pitch levies in uncertain times
Thirty-four school districts in Northeast Ohio are asking their voters to OK tax issues tomorrow. Many of them, including Green on the southern edge of Summit County, say proposed budget cuts for education make passing their levies even more of a necessity. But Gov. John Kasich has said local school districts should not have to be going to their tax payers to fill the holes. He told reporters last month that schools should focus on cutting excess spending first.

America Has A Koch Problem
Today, many of the posts here have to do with the views and funding of the Koch Brothers. Since he ran for vice president, as the libertarian candidate, David Koch has been trying to shape this country into an Oligarchy.
From funding of "grass roots" Astroturf movements, to the starting of "Think Tanks" like the Heritage Foundation, The Cato Institute and others, David and his brother Charles are buying our Democracy.
America has a Koch Problem, and it is time for an intervention.
