Munger Says Bankers' 'Megalomania, Insanity' Fueled Bubble
I would say that the same forces are at work today, as there was before the housing crisis. When are we going to say enough, and force our elected officials to actually work for the people of the United States instead of Big Banks, Big Business, and Big Oil?

To put the repeal of SB 5 on the ballot, slightly more than 231,000 valid signatures needed to be turned in. They had to include at least 3% of the voters in 44 of Ohio's 88 counties.
Wanna guess how many counties turned in that percentage?

From the Horn of Africa, to Texas, to New Mexico Extreme Weather & Climate Taking Its Toll : TreeHugger
Three extreme weather stories to take you into the long holiday weekend in the US to which you probably should be paying attention: 1) Fire continues to threaten Los Alamos National Laboratory and its store of radioactive waste stored (shockingly) in drums outside; 2) the drought in Texas is so bad that the entire state has been declared a disaster area; 3) ongoing drought in the Horn of Africa and East Africa is sending masses of what are essentially climate refugees from Somalia into Kenya. Fla. Gov. Scott attends Koch Summit. Where was Kasich?
The Dispatch Reported that our Governor was unable to attend the Koch Brothers Retreat
Also today, the Republican Kasich told The Dispatch that he did not attend the billionaire Koch brothers' private retreat for conservative leaders in Vail, Colo. over the weekend.
"But I wish I could've," Kasich said. "I couldn't go...I don't know if I was invited, but, I know those guys."
But the Palm Beach Post reported something entirely different.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry, addressed the "Understanding and Addressing Threats to American Enterprise and Prosperity" conference on Sunday, and Govs. John Kasich of Ohio and Bob McDonnell of Virginia also attended.
All I can say for now, is that this interests me! I want to know, what did our Governor do over the weekend, did he get his marching orders from the Koch Brothers who want to take over American Politics.
"According to Doherty’s book, the Kochs came to regard elected politicians as merely “actors playing out a script.” A longtime confidant of the Kochs told Doherty that the brothers wanted to “supply the themes and words for the scripts.” In order to alter the direction of America, they had to “influence the areas where policy ideas percolate from: academia and think tanks" Read more of the New Yorker Article here

Time to drive out the moneychangers
The topic of this article is the megabanks who entrap our citizens into mortgages that hurt them.
"It is impossible to buy a toaster that has a one-in-five chance of bursting into flames and burning down your house. But it is possible to refinance an existing home with a mortgage that has the same one-in-five chance of putting the family out on the street–and the mortgage won’t even carry a disclosure of that fact to the homeowner."
--Elizabeth WarrenGiven the fact that this is the largest purchase that a person makes in their lifetime, their should be some regulations protecting the consumer. Warren is involved in the start up of a protection agency for consumers of financial products, but there are those in congress who don't want the average person protected from the avarice of the big banks.
"House Republicans have been adamant since last year that they don't like the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — and they also made it apparent they don't like Elizabeth Warren, the Obama administration adviser who is helping launch the agency."Last year, there was a "Move Your Money" campaign, to get people to move money from the heartless mega banks to local banks. If you haven't done so, please consider doing it now. If we can't get protection from the big banks, lets drive out the money changers.
